Valkyrie Badge Grew Wings.

Honda is a leading motorcycle, innovation, and performance company. As a brand, they always want to stay relevant within a highly competitive field.

TASK. THD was selected to design a fresh new facelift for the Honda Valkyrie. The task was to create more engagement, extend loyalty, and build advocacy with the next generation of this motorcycle category.

SOLVE. We began giving the badge an iconic identity. We knew the key to addressing this challenge was to dig seriously into Valkyrie lore. By doing so, a stylized winged Valkyrie was designed in a 2d design and then was adapted into a 3d badge solution.

OUTCOME. Honda Valkyrie now has a unique brand message relevant to this motorcycle category's next generation. Honda successfully captured the imagination and loyalty of its core consumers, which translated into successful sales.

Honda Goldwing

 

Goldwing Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary.

Honda has heritage brands within its motorcycle portfolio. Honda Goldwing riders are as loyal as they come, and Honda celebrates its 50th with a custom emblem design.

TASK. Create a badge that reflects Honda’s rich history with the Goldwing. Highlight the numeric 50 and create a shape that brings the emblem design together. 

SOLVE. The use of metallic gold for Goldwing as the background is an homage to the Goldwing name. The hero 50 contrasted in silver metal and extruded from the emblem. The secondary type is simple and understated to accent the rest of the design. 

OUTCOME. Honda Goldwing lives on for generations to come. The 50th Anniversary edition benchmarked a time in Honda’s rich history of the touring motorcycle category.
