Furniture With A Story To Tell.

Harold Greene is a custom furniture artisan specializing in truly extraordinary furniture designs. Since 1978, Harold has been handcrafting successful works of functional art that people just need to own. His work is meant to be seen and featured nationally in galleries, museums, and television.

TASK. Our goal was to give Harold Greene Hand-Made Fine Furnishings a brand voice that was uniquely his. The is a flooded market with furniture craftsmen, but most brands don't reflect the end product's passion and expertise.

SOLVE. This is a case study in listening. Sitting down with Harold and just listening to him describe his methodology on creating works of design and art, the phrase, "The wood has something to say," came up. It was poignant because the clientele that purchases his furniture loves to explain its concept to guests who come to their house or place of business. The brand needed to convey that insight and make it uniquely Harold Greene.

OUTCOME. The chair comprises a lowercase serif "h" representing a chair. The stem's bottom is angled to convey Harold's craftsmanship to his designs. The "G" is a speech bubble that represents the chair talking about its design attributes: materials, provenance, and/or form.
